Terms of Service
The rules governing your use of BudgetApp.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using BudgetApp (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. This document describes the actual terms under which the application operates; it does not by itself provide legal protection.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials (email, password, backup email, and any connected Google account) confidential.
- You may connect either or both sign-in methods (email/password and/or Google OAuth) to a single BudgetApp account. The Service does not create duplicate accounts for the same person.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password immediately and contact us.
4. Your financial data
- All wallets, categories, transactions, and transfers you enter are your data. BudgetApp does not claim ownership.
- The Service stores this data solely to provide the budgeting features you request (dashboard, charts, reports, multi-currency support).
- You can view, edit, export, and delete your financial data at any time from the interface.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your financial data with third parties.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the data you enter.
5. Google OAuth
- The Continue with Google feature uses Google's OpenID Connect protocol.
- By using it, you also agree to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- BudgetApp only receives and stores the stable Google
subidentifier (thegoogle_idfield). No other Google credentials are stored. - Linking Google to an existing BudgetApp account requires the Google email to match the account email. This prevents account takeover.
6. Backup email
- The backup email is an optional additional contact/recovery address.
- It is not a sign-in method and does not grant access to the account by itself.
- You can add, change, or remove it in Profile → Backup Email.
7. Prohibited uses
You may not:
- Attempt to access, interfere with, or damage the Service's infrastructure.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the Service.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent limits or abuse the free tier.
- Store illegal content or use the Service for unlawful activities.
- Share your account or credentials with others.
8. Intellectual property
The Service's code, design, and text (excluding your financial data) are the property of the developer. You retain all rights to the financial data you enter.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted/error-free operation. BudgetApp is a personal budgeting tool, not professional financial, legal, or tax advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero for the free tier).
11. Data security and privacy
Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We implement reasonable safeguards (bcrypt password hashing, prepared statements, TLS in production, HttpOnly/Secure cookies, CSRF protection for OAuth), but no system is 100% secure.
12. Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion via the UI is not yet implemented; to request full deletion, contact us (see section 16).
- We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, after a reasonable attempt to notify you.
- On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
13. Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms as the application evolves. The Last updated date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the in-app notification area or the email on file.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's jurisdiction (Ukraine), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not limit consumer protections that may apply in your jurisdiction.
15. Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
